Makes about ½ cup
¼ cup organic ketchup
2 tablespoons soy sauce
2 tablespoons agave syrup or brown sugar
1 tablespoon rice vinegar
4 whole scallions sliced thin, reserve 2 for garnish
Red pepper flakes
1. Blend all ingredients in a bowl until smooth, and set aside.
2. Brush tofu, tempeh or other meat substitute strips with a little oil and broil or roast either loose or on skewers until done.
3. Toss broiled “meat” in the sauce and return to the oven to heat through.
4. Sprinkle with red pepper flakes and chopped scallions and serve.
